[TDS] Why is my payment less than the mentioned amount?

Modified on Tue, 09 Jan 2024 at 11:46 AM

The difference of 10% of the amount paid to you in your bank account and the payment mentioned on the platform, is the TDS (Tax Deducted at Source), which you can claim while filing for an Income Tax Return. This means, that if you earned INR 10,000 for content at WittyPen, your payout would be INR 9,000.

This is deducted under section 194J and is mandatory compliance by the Indian Government.

So, no worries!
